The story begins in 1992 with the founding of IMPEX Tecniche Lineari in Torgiano in Umbria, in the heart of Italy. Alvaro Torba, founder and owner of this trading company for linear technology products, recognised early on the need for customised, high-quality and at the same time inexpensive linear units, and so he started developing and manufacturing his own product series under the name movitec, which is well-known in the industry, and derived from this also the design of special machines. Today, son Maurizio Torba and daughter Christina Torba run the business in Italy - Alvaro Torba and his wife Wanda emigrated a second time to Switzerland in 2016.
In the same year, Alvaro Torba founded FORES Solutions GmbH in Biel with the idea of developing a small, robust, easy-to-program and, above all, transportable machine tool. In collaboration with young engineers, the FORES 648 was created, a mobile, compact 3-axis CNC drilling and milling centre that can be flexibly placed anywhere in a production hall thanks to its minimal space requirements. All components required for operation are integrated in the machine - only a 400 V power connection is needed: Plug in - and go!
